Our Setting

Our Setting

Our welcoming setting boasts both natural and built learning environments that provide opportunities for children to be active learners as they participate in open-ended play, exploration and planned learning experiences.  Our centre is rich in natural beauty, particularly our outdoor environment which has a large conifer tree surrounded by a deciduous vine that illustrates seasonal changes as its foliage changes colour and begins to shed in the cooler months then new leaves begin to grow as the seasons change and the warmer weather approaches. In addition to this our garden has an abundance of plants, trees, edible gardens, sand, pebbles and many other beautiful natural elements that provoke a deep connection with nature and support an appreciation of the world around us.

Our indoor environment is calm and welcoming with areas created to facilitate group learning and play. The areas are planned and set up according to the current interests of the children who we encourage to have a strong voice in making decisions about their learning and play.

Our centre has a holistic approach to learning that integrates the children’s interests, spontaneous experiences and purposeful planned learning experiences. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, we facilitate learning experiences that support children to engage with each other, build relationships, share ideas and express themselves in order to develop their social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Our daily routine helps to prepare the children to manage transitions, participate in a variety of experiences and actively engage with the people around them. We aim to support every child to develop the skills and knowledge that will aid them in starting school, and provide the foundations of their on-going learning and development.
